Follow the life of Salima "Sally" Serajul. She was born in the Rakhine region of Burma to a Rohingya Muslim father, Ali Serajul, and a white British mother, Eileen Thompson, and raised in London, England. Salima moves to Ottawa, Ontario, after graduating from the University of West London. While in Canada, Salima meets Rohingya Muslim immigrants, her father's people, and begins to reconnect with her cultural heritage. While at Carleton University, Salima meets Omar Gemeda, a handsome Ethiopian student. Sparks fly between them but Omar's sister Khadija Gemeda, Salima's business school rival, won't have it. Do wish them luck with their romance.
