The collapse of the Russian Empire in 1917 is described in some detail. The book mention anti-Russian attitudes of the American press that have existed in the U.S. since the mid-19th century and how they affected the demise of the Russian monarchy. The last chapter is concerned with the establishment of the Soviet regime in Russia and how its severity compares to the tsarist empire.
