Description'Musings at Death's Door: anancient bicultural Asian-Australian ponders about Australian society'. (Please note that royalties will be donated in toto to motor neurone disease research). In summary, the book (my sixth) sets out my considered conclusions fearlessly but fairly. It lays into the subservience and incompetence of our politicians, the sham of democracy as we experience it, the racket of asylum seeking, the professional ethnic, and the progressive breakdown of family, in the main. In contrast, I extol the egalitarianism of Australian society (a beacon to our neighbours), the incredibly successful integration of our diverse ethno-cultural communities, and the nation's maturation into a modern, cosmopolitan and tolerant polity. I then suggest that we join the USA, the benefits being undeniable; and an evaluation of our national icons to recognise the contributions of immigrants.
