Books I have read and loved!

I thought I would share a variety of books that I have read and really enjoyed.

The Travelling Cat Chronicles: The uplifting million-copy bestselling Japanese translated story
Hiro Arikawa
£9.99 £9.49

The Highland Falcon Thief
M. G. Leonard, Sam Sedgman, et al.
£7.99 £7.59A really great 'who done it?' kinda read, which kept me so, so entertained the whole time! I felt like the character in the book, where I didn't have much of an interest in trains but this book made me love it!

Convenience Store Woman
SAYAKA MURATA
£9.99 £9.49A really great story about feeling content with where you are at in life, the feelings of being pressured and expectations too.

A Pinch of Magic: A magical gift to curl up with this Christmas
Michelle Harrison
£7.99 £7.59I absolutely adored this book! If you want magic, adventures and family then this is for you. I was so drawn into the magical world in this book and cannot wait to read the sequels too!

A Sprinkle of Sorcery
Michelle Harrison
£7.99 £7.59This is the sequel to 'A Pinch Of Magic' which I was obsessed with. It is one of those books that you keep thinking about, after you have read it. I wasn't as fussed on this one as it was heavily pirate themed, but I knew it was still a really great book full of adventure. I feel like so many people would adore this!

Towers Falling
Jewell Parker Rhodes
£7.99 £7.59I feel like this is such an important read, especially to primary schools too. In this book, it is all about a teacher explaining what happened to the Twin Towers to the children in their class. They approach the subject in such a great way and would highly recommend this!

Lock Every Door
Riley Sager
£12.99 £12.34I think that this was my favourite book to read of 2020. This book is all about a woman that is asked to flat-sit an apartment in a very famous apartment block in New York. Weird things start to happen and something isn't quite right. And I'm not going to say anything else because of spoilers, but if you enjoy thrillers then you might love this!

Clap When You Land
Elizabeth Acevedo
£8.99 £8.54Such a great book! It is about a girl who's dad has just died in a plane crash, but also flips to another perspective where another girl has the same experience with her father too. A really great read, the book is written in verse so fast to read too!

Two Can Keep a Secret: TikTok made me buy it
Karen M. McManus
£8.99 £8.54Wow. This book had so many twists, turns and surprises! I really, really enjoyed this. I would say that this is one of my favourite rads of 2020 too! A high school. A history of murders. That is all you need to know!

The Flatshare: the utterly heartwarming debut sensation, now a major TV series
Beth O'Leary
£9.99 £9.49A really fun, lighthearted read especially when you want something that you don't need to concentrate on too much! A lot of fun, full of romance and great for a cosy night in!

The Haunting of Hill House
Shirley Jackson
£9.99 £9.49A really great old school spooky tale, considering it was written in the 1910s. Don't expect a huge thriller piece, but it was a really interesting read!

Capture or Kill
Tom Marcus
£12.99 £12.34Okay, if you are interested in MI5, then this book is for you. Tom Marcus was an ex intelligence officer at MI5 who shares stories about his experiences. A really great insight and he has several books too!

Three Hours: The Top Ten Sunday Times Bestseller
Rosamund Lupton
£9.99 £9.49Wow, what a book! This book is all about a school shooting, what the characters are going through throughout the book and the reasons behind the shooting. It was a really great read, eye opening to what could be and also spreads some awareness on situations like this.

Invisible Differences: A Story of Aspergers, Adulting, and Living a Life in Full Color
Julie Dachez
£17.99 £17.09Such a great, eye opening book that could raise so much awareness to other people. It is a really great read, looking into somebody else's life and seeing how they could struggle with situations that others wouldn't even think of. Great read!

The Invisible Guest in Moominvalley
Tove Jansson, Cecilia Davidsson, et al.
£12.99 £12.34For all of the Moomin lovers out there, or even new fans too! A really great wholesome story from the Moomins, doesn't disappoint but when do they? Highly recommend for all ages!

Heartstopper Volume 1: The bestselling graphic novel, now on Netflix!
Alice Oseman
£12.99 £12.34A really great graphic novel, thoroughly enjoyed! This is part of a series which is highly, highly loved in the book community. I feel like you can read the description, as I'm worried I might throw some spoilers out there!

Noughts & Crosses
Malorie Blackman
£8.99 £8.54A really good, eye opening book again. This book is all about two races, noughts and crosses. It is basically a role reversal of the real world. Noughts and Crosses shouldn't intertwine with each other. They shouldn't be friends, lovers, companions.. and this book will take you on the struggles of this!

Pumpkinheads
Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks
£12.99 £12.34Okay, even thinking about the cover of this graphic novel.. it gives me such cosy warmth! A really great graphic novel about all things autumnal, cosy and you won't be able to put it down! A great easy read.

The Memory Police
Yoko Ogawa
£9.99 £9.49Again, one of the best books I have read in 2020. This book gives off dystopian vibes and I am all here for it. The main character lives in a place where 'the memory police' can make things disappear from everybodys memories. One day, you could be a shoemaker and the next day, shoes have gone from existence and you don't realise. But it's very rare, but some people do still remember which is very dangerous.. I cried and cried at the end of this book and wish I could experience it with fresh eyes all over again.

Logging Off
Nick Spalding
£8.99 £8.54I really enjoyed this book. It is all about a character that has to go on a digital detox because it is affecting his life so badly. The book takes you on several funny stories and experiences that the character has and it is a really great book. It also makes you think about how much digital consumption happens in your life too.

Soldier Spy
Tom Marcus
£10.99 £10.44Here is another Tom Marcus book, like I have mentioned above. He is an ex intelligence officer for MI5 and takes you through some of his experiences on the job.

Harrow Lake
Kat Ellis
£7.99 £7.59Such a great YA thriller which had me so captivated the whole way through! One extra creepy character and I'd say this is a must read for a range of ages.

The Memory Wood
Sam Lloyd
£12.99One of the best thrillers i have read this year. It is all about a boy who walks through the woods to find a girl held hostage inside a rustic worn down cottage. He wants to help her, but she could also be his friend. So what should he do?

Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow Book 1
Jessica Townsend
£7.99 £7.59Obsessed with this series! It has some Harry Potter and The Hunger Games vibes in there, but in such a wonderful and magical world!

Kidnap on the California Comet
M. G. Leonard, Sam Sedgman, et al.
£7.99 £7.59Thoroughly enjoyed this one! Think Agatha Christie but done for kids and a lot of fun!

Frostheart
Jamie Littler
£7.99 £7.59SUCH a great book! Frostheart takes you on a great adventure, full of events and strong messages. Highly recommend!

Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow Book 2
Jessica Townsend
£7.99 £7.59Jessica Townsend has done it again, absolutely smashed it! I am so obsessed with the Nevermoor series and I would highly recommend them to everyone. So magical and enchanting with loads of adventure. A definite must read! I can't wait to move onto the next (apparently there's going to be 6 in total!)
