Do Book Event: 11 May 7pm
We've teamed up with the award-winning independent publisher, The Do Book Company, for an event to celebrate a new anthology of seminal writing on the theme of “doing”, alongside 10 years of publishing its inspirational pocket guides in association with The DO Lectures.
The hour-long event will feature talks from two bestselling Do Books authors, Robert Poynton (Do Pause, Do Improvise) and Bobette Buster (Do Story, Do Listen). The event will celebrate the “Do” spirit of independence and small but powerful community businesses such as bookshops – and provide storytelling, wellbeing and self-development tools to those at the helm.
How to watch the event
Digital access to the event is included with The Book of Do: A Manual for Living or any Do Book via Bookshop.org. The link to watch will be emailed to you on the day, 11 May. Save the date! Questions? Contact [email protected]

The Do Book Co. was founded by former Penguin Random House editor, Miranda West, in association with the sell-out DO Lectures, which takes place annually in west Wales. Its aim was to publish concise guides that would focus on the “doing” not the background theory to inspire action and create positive change amongst their community of entrepreneurs, makers and doers.
Miranda West, Founder and Publisher of The Do Book Co. “Ten years on from our launch in 2013, we remain committed to publishing books that inspire action and positive change by the world’s leading doers, innovators and changemakers. Beautifully designed inside and out, each book is written by an expert who has taken to the stage at The DO Lectures – the magical, life-changing event held each year in west Wales. Our concise guides (each book is approx. 20,000 words) give readers all the tools, guidance and motivation needed to go and ‘Do’. From life skills to smart working practices, with subjects covering design, business, wellbeing and sustainable living, our books hold a distinctive place within the book industry as one of the few recognisable brand series out there.
“We have a highly engaged community who come back time and again for our unique take on topics as varied as baking sourdough, a morning walk practice, building ‘pause’ into your life, purpose-led brands, storytelling, even email marketing. As soon as we entered the market, our books were supported by independent and high street bookshops, along with retailers such as The Conran Store, Paul Smith, the Design Museum. We’re delighted to still be here 10 years on and are incredibly grateful to our readers who continue to find the books useful and engaging, and to all the stockists who support us.”
