Here are some of my tippity-top books I've ready this year so far. I recommend you read each and every one!

Things We Do Not Tell the People We Love

Huma Qureshi

£16.99 £16.14

A short story collection I read back in February. Such crisp, sharp and relatable writing. When I tell you I think about some of these stories daily, believe me and then pick up a copy because !!!!

The Only Black Girls in Town

Brandy Colbert

£6.99 £6.64

Brandy Colbert's characters are also so vibrant and real, and this is no exception. I also loved the accessible way this book talks about having queer parents and the history of passing. Truly excellent!

The Travelling Cat Chronicles: The life-affirming one million copy bestseller

Hiro Arikawa

£9.99 £9.49

This book made ms so emotional and I love every single second of it! This book takes us on a journey as we meet different friends and family of Satoru, each one complex and lovable. Also it is narrated by a cat!!! What more do you want!

Ana on the Edge

A. J. Sass

£5.99 £5.69

This book flew straight into my soul and a piece of it has never left. Dramatic? Maybe ... but this beautiful middle grade explores what it means to be non-binary, friendship and family dynamics and ice skating! Need more concivning? IO have a whole video review just for this book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwkNAouyo-w&t=1s

The Housekeeper and the Professor (Vintage Classics Japanese Series)

Yoko Ogawa

£10.99 £10.44

This book is full of maths ... and I loved it! I have always hated maths and this book gave me such an appreciation for it and what it can mean to others. It's such a beautiful slice of life read.

While I Was Away

Waka T. Brown

£12.99 £12.34

A middle grade memoir that vividly tells the story of 12-year-old Waka who is sent to Japan to reconnect with her family and roots. Don't be frightened by it being a memoir, this is a super accessible read and a beautiful read.
