She helps scores of 10 year olds prepare for their 11+ and independent schools each year. These are her top picks for test papers.
As for which fictional books Louise would recommend for children preparing for the 11+? Absolutely anything. Take them to a bookshop and let them browse, and pick something which piques their interest. All books will improve their fluency, grammar, concentration span and vocabulary. And as they develop a love of reading, so many other skills will fall into place.
