The Polari Book Prizes, the UK’s book prizes for emerging and established LGBTQ+ writers, have announced this year’s longlists. 

Established by Paul Burston and the Polari Literary Salon, the prize has been awarded annually since its launch in 2011 to promote writing that explores the LGBTQ+ experience. The winners will be crowned on Friday 29 November.​

This year there are three Polari prizes – for a first book, for the book of the year (excluding debuts), and for a Children’s/YA title.
