By The Ironbridge Bookshop

Some of the greatest stories come in the form of comics or graphic novels. Many of them have been adapted into tv shows and films and we don’t even know it!

Sweet Tooth Book One
Jeff Lemire
£19.98 £18.98Part fairytale and part horror, following the unlikely duo of a drifter and a human/animal hybrid. They journey across post apocalyptic America, after being forced out of a quiet rural life. Dangers around every corner. Loveable characters. Fantastic artwork.

Preacher Book One
Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon
£15.99 £15.19A preacher armed with a bizarre spiritual force, his badass girlfriend and an alcoholic vampire begin a violent romp across America, to literally find God. Losing faith in humanity, discovering the dark parts of the mind and throwing blasphemy and swear words around. I adore this series. Not for the faint hearted.

Fables Vol. 1: Legends in Exile
Bill Willingham, James Jean, et al.
£10.99 £10.22Gothic-noir story, full of destiny and redemption. Following a detective who is also a witch, coming to terms with her past and future. Love this on going series. The artwork is mostly black and white but a hint of colour every now and again.

The Complete MAUS
Art Spiegelman
£16.98 £16.13A haunting tale of survival during hitlers Europe. Depicting the Jewish as mice and the nazis as cats, a very important retelling, beautifully done.

Paper Girls Volume 1
Brian K Vaughan
£8.99 £8.541980’s childhood. Mysteries collide when 4 12 year old girls uncover a very important story. This was one of the first series I got into and loved.

Nimona
Noelle Stevenson
£11.99 £11.39Magic, mad science and a mysterious past come together as supervillain and sidekick wreak havoc. Taking down an institution, that everyone thinks are heroes, isn’t as easy as it seems. Very loveable!
