I have loved books since I was a child and drew the Chocolate Room from Willy Wonka's chocolate factory in my school news jotter. The teacher lent me a Pan copy of the Diary of Anne Frank, and gifted me 'What Katy Did' and 'Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm', which I still own, slightly dog-eared and spine-cracked but loved nonetheless. From Carrie's War to the Railway Children, to Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators, reading books as a child has inspired my love for them as an adult, a love which I now pass to my own children today.
I love all types of fiction, from historical to crime. This year has been a reading boon for me, I have absorbed everything including Shuggie Bain, The Midnight Library, Jack and the Flum Flum Tree, Motherwell, and Girl, Woman, Other to name just a few. No book is off limits, they widen our worlds.
