John Shelley

John Shelley debuted as a book illustrator in London before living in Japan for over 20 years, receiving awards for commercial illustration in Tokyo as well as over 50 children's books for Western and Japanese publishers. Now returned to the UK, he's currently based in Norwich, from where he continues to collaborate with publishers internationally.

A long time volunteer for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), he’s also a member of the

Society of Authors and East Anglian Writers. He’s a multiple nominee for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.
