LePrince/Shah
The story of the birth of film is endlessly fascinating and not at all what you might expect. The books in these selections have been particularly useful/interesting/inspiring in our own work and we hope they offer some unexpected insights into motion pictures and their place in the world.
Leprince/Shah is a writing and research project specialising in pre- and early-cinema history. It is the work of Irfan Shah (a specialist in the subject of inventor, Louis Le Prince) who has co-written a BAFTA long-listed documentary, curated exhibitions, written articles and presented papers on the subject. He is a founder member of the Louis Le Prince International Research and Engineering Project and is currently collaborating on a book on Le Prince.
