Maisie Chan is a multiple-award winning author. Her debut novel Danny Chung Does Not Do Maths (also known as Danny Chung Sums It Up in the U.S and Canada) won the Branford Boase 2022, the Jhalak Prize (Children's and YA) 2022 and was shortlisted for the Blue Peter Book Awards 2022. Her latest novel for children is Keep Dancing, Lizzie Chu which was published in June 2022 (in the U.S. release date was March 2023).
She also the author of the Tiger Warrior younger fiction series.
She has written early reader books for Rising Stars and Big Cat Collins, and a collection of fairy tales, myths and legends in Stories From Around the World for Scholastic, as well as many stories for The Big Think: a well-being curriculum based around stories for primary school children. She has a recently written about Mary Queen of Scots for Historic Environment Scotland, and has a historical tale in the upcoming Bedtime Stories: Amazing Asian Tales from the Past with Scholastic. She donated a story to Our Rights to raise money for Amnesty International.
She also started the group Bubble Tea Writers Network to support and encourage new British East and Southeast Asian writers in the UK. Originally from Birmingham, Maisie now lives with her family in Glasgow. When Maisie isn't writing, she enjoys yoga, dim sum and singing really loud. She has lived in the U.K, U.S and Taiwan.
