Open Space Books
We are a small, quixotic indie publisher run from a cottage on a hill in North Yorkshire. You find us at the beginning of our journey - our first book was 'Where Lay My Homeward Path' (the selected short stories of Edward Thomas) and our second will be 'Sigh For A Strange Land' by Monica Stirling, which will help to raise funds for the Fast Aid charity project supplying humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
We aim to publish a mix of forgotten treasures as well as a lot of shiny new material (for instance, the powerful novel 'Jihaddywaddy' is due for release in February 2024)
But we also want to share the love, and so here are our lists of interesting books which, for the most part, come from smaller, indie publishers who are out there fighting the good fight. We'll add a few words to say just why we've included each book, and sometimes we'll say a few words on the publishers themselves - Support them if you can!
