The Ceilidh Place
The Ceilidh Place is often described as 'a bookshop with rooms'. We are a small, independent Hotel, Cafe-bar, Arts Venue and Bookshop in Ullapool, in the North-West Highlands of Scotland. Established in 1970, we believe in promoting the Arts in all their forms.
The Ceilidh Place Bookshop is a small, cosy bookshop with a big range of hand-picked quality books. Browse our eclectic collection with a Scottish literary bias online here or let our friendly and knowledgeable staff welcome you in Ullapool. We have many regular customers, some local or from other parts of the region and others from further afield who holiday here on a regular basis. We are open all year round, seven days a week and customers can buy books from 8am until late when the café/bar finally closes.
From art to travel, biography to philosophy, comtemporary fiction to popular science, children and YA to poetry, Gaelic books to sheet music, Scottish history to feminist books, politics to coffee table books and lots in between. Find books you love and ones you didn't know you wanted.
We also sell lovely cards, calendars and a small selection of Scottish folk music CDs.
