About Chris Doveton
Chris was born in India just before WW2, where his British father was a commander in the Indian Army.
After war broke out, Chris moved to South Africa along with his mother and brother.In 1948, Chris was sent to England to live with his father, where he attended a boarding school in Kent. The loss of his mother and family, left behind in South Africa, had a profound, lifelong effect on Chris.
For his national service, he joined the Royal Navy and became a commissioned officer in HMS Ark Royal.
After leaving the military he qualified as a Company Secretary and had a rich and diverse career owning his own printing company, the Doveton Press, and working in the computer industry for Apple Computers and Toshiba.
In 2011, Chris wrote, ‘The Spanish Dream’ and also, ‘In the World’s Shadows’, published in 2017.
In 2020, his latest book ‘I’m Fine, Thanks’ was released; a heart-wrenching journey of love, grief and redemption.
