Having written political thrillers with a tinge of dystopia, and with three books published during the pandemic, Chris is refocusing in 2022, with a new release in a different genre. Her novella, a light and amusing satire, ‘A School Inspector Calls, but who is the fool in the school?’ was published on 27th April by Burton Mayers Books.

Burton Mayers Books published Chris’s third novel, #isolate, on 15th October 2021, following publication of ‘#stoptheglitch’ on 16th October 2020.

Having retired at the end of 2018, Chris now focuses on her writing, ably assisted by Ken, her husband, chief critic and proof-reader. ‘Zade’, her first novel, was published by Austin Macauley in May 2020.

Chris is proud of her Open University degree and qualifying as a teacher through the Open University, achieving both while her three children were young.

During her 30-year education career, Chris has worked as a class teacher, a primary school headteacher, and an Ofsted inspector, as well as setting up and managing pre-schools.  She was also principal of a Further Education Centre. In 2000 Chris was invited to Buckingham Palace to celebrate her contribution to education.

Over ten years, she occupied a series of senior management roles in county councils, leading on the quality of education in Oxfordshire, and most recently as Head of Education in Warwickshire, with responsibility for early years, primary and secondary schools, through to adult education.
