Coram Beanstalk
Coram Beanstalk
Coram Beanstalk is a national children's reading charity established in 1973. At Coram Beanstalk we equip people with the skills to help children switch onto reading, learn to read and become confident, independent readers. We apply our proven, reading for pleasure approach to providing volunteer reading helpers for early years, primary and secondary schools, whilst also passing on the benefit of our expertise through training courses to parents and communities.
Our wealth of experience in helping adults find the 'right' book for children who may not have yet discovered the joy of reading means that the books we recommend are always 'Beanstalk Brilliant Books' - by which we mean a book that is not only brilliant in its own right, but also has the power to engage all children - even the most anti-reading of readers!
We use our expertise to curate packs of books for all our partner schools for our volunteers to use with the children they read with. We are also supported in our work by a huge number of wonderful children's authors.
Buying Beanstalk Brilliant Books via our Bookshop.org page is a great way of supporting the work we do, especially at a time when children need us more than ever. Please follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep up to date with all our news and find out more about our work. And if you'd like to become a reading helper the do please take a look at our website here.
