The First Bookshop was established by Roger with his Dad and Mum, at Garforth Main Street, Yorkshire, 5th May 1987, from where he's supplied freepost mail order Book Tokens to the UK & Ireland for over 37 years, as is still trading here today!
Bookselling family since 1974, with Roger as today's sole owner (after the recent passing of joint owner & partner Martin) originally working for WHSmith Wholesale Leeds. Roger's first responsibility at the WHSmith Warehouse, was stock control of all Ladybird Books. Currently he is collecting original Ladybirds 1st Editions already owning an impressive range of Penguin 1st Editions.
