Liz Flanagan

I write for children and young adults - my books are Eden Summer (nominated for the Carnegie Medal); Dragon Daughter (Winner of the Leeds Book Award & the Calderdale Book of the Year Award); Rise of the Shadow Dragons; The Pirate's Dragon; Wildsmith: Into the Dark Forest (Winner of the UKLA Award (7-10), Spark Book Award, Stockton Book of the Year Award); Wildsmith: City of Secrets, Wildsmith: The Hidden Sea, Wildsmith: Magical Mountain Rescue. I've had lots of jobs in the past - including working as a children's book editor and managing a writing centre for Arvon. I really enjoy meeting readers and often run workshops and school assemblies. I adore all kinds of animals and would have loved to find a bag of dragon eggs - like Milla in Dragon Daughter - but make do instead with my terrier, my grumpy cat, and a whole series of foster kittens. I live in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire with my family, and can mostly be found reading or walking. I hope you enjoy my lists...
