Mostly Books

Mostly Books is a friendly, independent bookshop located in the heart of Abingdon-on-Thames near Oxford.  The bookshop has been running for over twelve years and has been under new management since mid-2017.  Since the takeover, the business has gone from strength to strength, with a full shop refurb, an extensive events calendar and increased local engagement.  Our innovative Mostly Books Subscription and Book of the Month subscription services has been well received by customers, alongside the Mostly Books Cosy Club book club, and Mostly Books Meets - our bookish podcast.

Mostly Books is Bertram’s 2019 Bookshop of the Year, and we won an Independent Bookshop Innovation Award at the BA Conference in September 2018. In 2021 we were crowned Best Bookshop in Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire in the nationwide Muddy Stillettos Awards.

 

The bookshop was a regional finalist for Independent Bookshop of the Year for six consecutive years 2018-2022 at the British Book Awards and in 2023 we were awarded Independent Bookshop of the Year in the South-East region.
