nb. Magazine
Sharing and illuminating new and notable books.
With a name stemming from the Latin phrase, Nota Bene – meaning take note – our goal is to guide curious and engaged readers towards writing of note. As a team of trustworthy readers ourselves, we curate notable books and celebrate them in our quarterly magazine, book group community, and online library of writing and reviews.
A fundamental aspect of nb. is our resolve to collaborate and promote the independent bookshops that lie at the heart of the book industry, which is why we’re thrilled to be shining a light on the bookshops that enable readers to access books that will inspire and delight. If you'd like to delve a little deeper into the inner workings of the bookshops we love, the people that run them, the books that inhabit them, and the values that guide them, we've curated a Bookshops editorial library on our website and in our magazine, which is presented by the wonderful bookshop.org.
If you agree with us that receiving literary gifts that have been thoughtfully chosen by a team of readers is one of life’s great joys, then you’re in luck. This year, we have curated a limited run of beautifully wrapped Christmas gift boxes that contain a copy of our latest print magazine, the beautiful hardback edition of What Writer’s Read, curated by Pandora Sykes, and a wonderful book-themed candle created by an independent maker. And don’t worry if you’re already a subscriber to our magazine – we have a specific option for you as well!
