Nick Hunt is a writer and walker. His travel books include Walking the Woods and the Water and Where the Wild Winds Are, both finalists for the Stanford Dolman Travel Book of the Year. Where the Wild Winds Are has been translated into Italian, German, Dutch and French. He is also the author of a work of gonzo ornithology, The Parakeeting of London, and another travel book, Outlandish – the third in a loose trilogy of books about walking and Europe – will be published in May 2021. He is currently on a novel and a short story collection. His articles have appeared in The Guardian, The Economist, New Internationalist, Emergence, Resurgence & Ecologist, Caught By the River, Narratively, Political Insight, Geographical and other publications. He is an editor and co-director of the Dark Mountain Project. He currently lives in Bristol, UK.
