Olivia Laing
Olivia Laing is a widely acclaimed writer and critic. She’s the author of seven books, including To the River, The Trip to Echo Spring, The Lonely City and Everybody: A Book About Freedom. Her work has been translated into 21 languages and in 2018 she was awarded the Windham Campbell Prize for non-fiction. Her first novel, Crudo, was a Sunday Times top ten bestseller and won the James Tait Black Prize. Her collected essays on art are published as Funny Weather: Art in an Emergency. Her most recent book is an exuberant account of garden-making and the long and troubled dream of paradise on earth. The Garden Against Time will be published on 2 May.
