Penrallt sells new and second-hand books, specialising in the arts, politics, music, fiction, children's, climate, nature, well being etc. We also have an unrivalled collection of books on photography and photographers. We are privileged to be part of what is a thriving and healthy industry and a community of booksellers, writers and publishers who respond in exciting and unique ways to current trends, ideas and issues. In turn, our aim is to contribute to our community by offering books that are inspiring and informative, books that might help us all live more intelligently and fairly in the world.
Like all bookshops in Wales, we are closed for browsing but still open for business, just as were during similar times in 2020. People still need books, maybe especially now and we are doing everything we can to supply the books our customers need. We deliver by hand locally, post out further afield, set up shipping direct from our main suppliers and can arrange pre-paid collections from our front door.
We are continuing to use our bookshop window as a resource and walk-by exhibition space as we did in 2020. We started in April with our Free Books For Children initiative, then put on an exhibition of photographs, by Glenn Dene, showing the daily life of a Covid-19 hospital, Nevill Hall in Abergavenny and now we have a display of writer portraits and special words to suit the moment.
