Read a Girl is an organisation aimed at amplifying the voices of women authors. It started after its founder, Renata Miranda, realised that even though she was an avid reader, her reading list was dominated by men. She set herself up to start reading more women and documented her findings on a Facebook page that later developed into a monthly newsletter and an Instagram profile. Read a Girl’s main goal is to promote the work of women authors. Featured by Inc. and Mashable as one of the best newsletters of 2020, Read a Girl’s mission is to bring to light the work of amazing writers who, sometimes, get overshadowed by their gender.
