Release Your Shooting Star

My name is Ruth and I come from a long line of publishers dating back to the 1890s and more recently booksellers. 

In the mid 70s my father moved from having a bricks and mortar bookshop in Oxford to the wilds of West Wales and continued to sell his books through a mail order catalogue. I have vivid memories of the boxes of book catalogues compiled by my father returning from the printers and the whole family forming a production line to pack them up to send out. 

Although I work as a Life Coach I have a strong affiliation with the book world having grown up surrounded by my father's bookshop books, sometimes quite literally as they filled our living room when we first moved to Wales!  

Each generation of my family brought a new twist to the book world and Bookshop.org has allowed me to join my ancestors in a new and exciting way.
