The Steyning Bookshop

The Steyning Bookshop is a family-run bookshop, established in 1984 by Sara and Robin Bowers, who are now jointly running the shop with their daughter Gudrun and a small team of dedicated bookworms! We are located in the picturesque market town of Steyning, in the heart of the South Downs. We sell a wide range of new books with a particular interest in quality fiction, nature-writing, local interest, and children's books - clambering on the big red wooden book-train which forms the centrepiece of the children’s area in the shop is the highlight of a visit for many of our younger customers! We are lucky enough to be Julia Donaldson's local bookshop, and sell signed copies of Julia's books in store and via our website shop, which also offers signed books by other Sussex-based writers such as Nick Sharratt and Elly Griffiths. We also sell a stunning array of artistic cards, beautiful wrap, carefully-curated stationery, and book-related gifts and toys. We run 3 book groups, and organise a wide range of literary events for all ages. 

The shop is open Monday - Saturday 9.30-5.30pm, with Sunday opening in December.
