Mia @ The Young Press
About me: Welcome to my Bookshop page, my virtual library of books that I have read and recommend. I am Mia (she/her), a teenager who loves reading, mainly fiction, for children aged 9+ and young adults aged 12+. My life would be so different if I had never found my passion for reading. Books have enriched my life - my outlook, knowledge, friendships and thought process. Every time I read a book I am encouraged to evaluate life, people and myself. I consider different perspectives and reasoning, allowing me to look at life from different points of view. At the end of a book I reflect on the emotions that I felt, what I learnt and what I will take away from it.
“A book ultimately takes me on a journey - one that I could not have taken in real life.”
I love to share my passion for reading and encourage other young people to read more. I particularly enjoy fantasy, thriller and dystopian books, but I will read any genre! I also recommend books on my blog, that I share with Aidan, The Young Press - inquisitive teenagers exploring the world and forming opinions.
Disclosure: I am an affiliate of Bookshop.org; therefore, I will earn commission if you make a purchase through my Bookshop.org page (an equal commission will be shared amongst participating independent bookshops on Bookshop.org). I will donate all of my commission to the Children's Book Project - a registered charity who seek to tackle book poverty and give every child the opportunity to own a book. They collect pre-loved children and teen books and gift them, via schools, to children who have none or few of their own, providing more children with the opportunity to read.
Bookshops: In these ever changing times, we need to support our local bookshops as much as possible. You can search for a bookshop in the search function on this website and support them directly. I would be happy to collaborate with any independent bookshop by curating booklists linked to their Bookshop.org page. Please contact me via Twitter if you are interested.
